AKI SUSAN

아키수산 광안 Aki Susan Gwangan Susan (수산) means seafood or marine produce; Aki is the house name, and none of the posts explain it.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

Aki Susan Gwangan is a seafood izakaya in a side street just behind Gwangalli Beach. The draw is kanimiso, crab innards in the shell (6,000 won each) heated on a small burner and mashed with furikake rice balls (2,000 won for two); 18 of the 25 posts by people who went say they ate it. Sake-steamed clams (22,000 won) and the sashimi assortment (35,000 won) are the other common orders. It opens at 5 pm and runs until 1 or 2 am. We read 30 posts from January 2025 to October 2026; 2 were about other places (the Seomyeon branch and a nearby cafe) and 3 only listed the name, so we did not count them as visits.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Whether you wait depends on when you go. Six posts say they queued and four walked straight in. One waited about 30 minutes at 6 pm on a Friday, another was fourth in line around 6 on a weekend, and a regular who went on every Busan trip for a month waited on two of four visits. The four who walked in went right after opening, between 5 and 6 pm (one on a Saturday at 6), or late on a Sunday night.
  2. Three posts say you can book, and two actually booked through CatchTable — a group of six booked for 5 pm and found their table ready. The rule that only 5:00 and 5:30 slots can be booked, with everyone after that joining an app waitlist, is copied from the CatchTable listing.
  3. Six posts say a plate of raw cabbage, cucumber, bell pepper and cherry tomatoes with a thick peanut or sesame dip comes free when you sit down. One regular said she always asked for a second round.
  4. Portions lean small: two posts felt the 35,000-won sashimi assortment was a little light for the price, and none called the portions generous.
1 more
  1. Three posts describe repeat visits; one person went on four of five weekly Busan trips and was recognized by staff. One post (March 2025) said they would not return, citing weak highballs and unfriendly service.

One post that drove says there is no lot of its own and they used the Millak public car park. Five more posts copy the notice that there is no parking and point to a nearby paid lot (4,000 won an hour).

Getting inside

Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 22 posts read)

No post describes the floor or any stairs from experience; the ground-floor address is copied. One post mentions a slight uphill walk to get there.

Nobody mentioned whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means we do not know, not that there is none.

No post confirms from experience that the restroom is inside; one copies a listing saying so, and one says it is a shared unisex restroom but never had a long wait.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Service splits two to two: two posts praised a friendly owner and polite staff, two found the staff curt, one saying a server walked off mid-order at the next table.
  • Opinions on size differ: one post found the tables well spaced, two said there are few tables or that it is cozy rather than big. One post describes four-seat tables plus a bar counter, and one saw a private room at the back.
  • No post gave a full bill, so we only know menu prices: kanimiso 6,000 won, rice balls 2,000, steamed clams 22,000, sashimi assortment 35,000 (38,000 in one March 2026 post). Three posts note a 25,000-won food minimum excluding drinks. One joked you would spend a fortune eating dinner here and suggested coming for a second round instead.
  • Opening hours vary between posts and are mostly copied. Most 2026 posts give Tue–Thu 5 pm–1 am (last order 11:50), Fri–Sun 5 pm–2 am (last order 12:50), closed Mondays; 2025 posts give 2 am every day, and one October 2026 post again says 2 am Tue–Sun. Only one post learned of the Monday closure first-hand, after turning up on Mondays; two copied listings say it opens Mondays. Check before going.
  • No post describes walking from a subway station or bus stop; the 916 m from Gwangan Station exit 3 is copied from a map. Several posts say it is a short walk from the beach.
  • Three posts list the phone number 010-7242-3415, all copied; everyone who booked used CatchTable, and nobody mentions booking by phone.
  • One March 2026 post gives this address in the text but its map check-in points to the Seomyeon branch, so we could not be sure which shop it describes; we counted only its notes on waiting and the review event.
