Soup and riceKorean

Sanbandeul Dwaeji-gukbap

산반들 돼지국밥 Sanbandeul is taken from Busan's landscape: a sign on the shop wall says the name comes from a city of many mountains (san) and many fields (deul). Dwaeji-gukbap is pork soup served with rice.

Compiled from 29 blog posts read in fullSources →

Sanbandeul is a pork-soup shop on the ground floor at the mouth of the Jeonpo café street in Seomyeon, Busan, facing Nolimaru. Its dwaeji-gukbap looks like a bowl of ramen: soft-boiled egg, bean sprouts, wood-ear mushroom and jambon-style pork, with the rice already in the broth. You order at a kiosk by the door, then sit at the counter facing the kitchen or at one of the few tables in back. Bowls run 7,900 won (bone broth) to 8,900 won (house, spicy, miso), and the banner set of soup plus pork for 9,900 won holds the same price from February to October. Many posts add a fried set or the 24,900-won set for two. We read 30 posts dated 26 February to 21 October 2026; 29 describe an actual visit, and 26 date from 6 September on.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. 24 posts describe the seating. The core is a counter facing the open kitchen, about eight seats by one count. Posts disagree on the tables in back: two say two 2-tops and one 4-top, two say one of each, one says two 4-tops. Either way there are only three or four tables; three posts point out it is not counter-only.
  2. You order at the kiosk by the door; 19 posts say so. Because the room is small, a notice asks you to wait for staff to seat you after ordering. Three posts mention 3% of kiosk payments coming back as points, and one mentions a Dongbaekjeon (Busan local currency) discount.
  3. 16 posts say a glass of sikhye (rice punch) arrives free as you finish. One calls it not very sweet with no rice grains; another notes it is also sold by the litre for 5,900 won. A June post was offered sikhye or tomato juice, and a July post got yuzu-marinated tomatoes instead, so the free extra changed over the summer.
  4. 20 posts call the fried food crisp, and several say the fried chicken ended up the surprise of a meal they came for soup. One post found the shrimp batter a little thick.
7 more
  1. 16 posts say portions are large. One compared the large karaage to a whole chicken, another counted 12 pieces of fried chicken for 9,900 won, and one said the bowl alone held so much rice it was filling by itself.
  2. 12 posts mention a review event that earns a free side, usually big gyoza; two posts got two fried shrimp instead.
  3. Seven posts say the food came fast and none say it was slow; one timed the soup at under five minutes after ordering.
  4. Seven posts call the food spicy, all about the spicy bowl. Heat comes in levels, and several posts repeat the shop's guide: level 1 is about Shin Ramyun, level 2 about Teumsae Ramyun. The range is written differently: two posts (July, September) say 0.5 to 3, two October posts say 1 to 3.
  5. Seven posts say the pork has no gamey smell. The claims that it is jambon made from neck and shoulder and that the broth simmers over 40 hours come from the shop's wall text, so we did not count them.
  6. Nearly every post tags itself as a solo-dining spot, but only one says the writer went alone. Three went with friends, three with family (two with children, one with an 18-month-old) and one on a date. Several did note many solo diners around them.
  7. Four posts describe walking from Jeonpo Station, about five minutes from exit 7; one timed it at 7 minutes from Jeonpo and 9 from Seomyeon Station.

Posts saying you cannot4 of 29 posts

Four posts say there is no lot of its own and point to paid lots such as Ssangyong Parking nearby; one writer drove and used one. The quoted rate of 1,000 won per 30 minutes is copied information.

Where it is

Map showing where Sanbandeul Dwaeji-gukbap is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Four posts describe walking from Jeonpo Station, about five minutes from exit 7; one timed it at 7 minutes from Jeonpo and 9 from Seomyeon Station.

Getting inside

No post describes the floor from experience; we only have "1st floor" in the address.

Nobody says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits; even the post with an 18-month-old says nothing about a stroller. That means unknown, not absent.

No post says where the toilet is. "Separate men's and women's toilets" appears only in two copied amenity lists, which we did not count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • We know little about waiting. One post walked straight in around 7 pm on a weekday; another had a relaxed weekday lunch but guessed weekends could mean a wait. Everything else on queues is speculation.
  • Prices moved. The bowl-plus-fried-chicken set was 11,500 won in posts through 5 October 2026, 11,900 in one post on 8 October and 12,900 on 19 and 21 October. The 24,900-won set for two appears from 6 October, and shrimp (11,900) and mixed-fry (13,900) sets in mid-October. The 9,900-won soup-and-pork set and single bowls did not change.
  • Milmyeon (cold wheat noodles) was a summer item. It shows up from June, a July post called it a new summer dish, and people were still eating it on 5 October 2026. A post on 19 October found it missing from the menu; one post on 21 October said it was sold but did not order it.
  • Twenty visit posts give opening hours, all copied from the shop's listing. Nineteen say 11:00–20:30 (17 of them with a 16:00–17:00 break); one post on 21 October 2026 says closing is 21:00. One post says no closing day; nobody gives a last-order time.
  • Many posts list the phone number, 0507-1342-9876, but no one booked ahead; reservations appear only in copied amenity lists.
  • Posts split one to one on the pork: one calls it thick, the other says it comes thinly sliced.
  • Most posts follow one template: the same search phrases ("Seomyeon gukbap", "Seomyeon solo gukbap") in titles and hashtags, and the same sequence of 9,900-won banner, kiosk, counter seats for solo diners, wall instructions on how to eat it, and free sikhye. Two posts disclose sponsorship, one says the writer paid, and the rest say nothing. Some of this is likely commissioned copy.
