정식당 Abalone pot rice and abalone porridge, six tables, a lane back from Gwangalli beach
Korean · Suyeong-gu, Gwangan-dong
Data as of · Published ·
Jeongsikdang is an abalone-focused Korean kitchen on the ground floor of a lane between Geumnyeonsan station and Gwangalli beach. The food menu is short: rice cooked in a small iron pot with abalone-liver stock, or abalone porridge, and the only real choice is whether to have hijiki or gondre greens on top. The pot rice comes with a seaweed soup, and more than half the people who write about this place spend longer on that soup than on the rice. It carries the government's "fair price shop" designation, and a pumpkin sikhye arrives free as you finish. The writing we read runs from November 2025 to July 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours
What sets it apart
- The seaweed soup and the banchan are refilled at no charge — except the soy-marinated shrimp and the soy-marinated abalone, which one writer notes are the only two that are not (another says they wanted to order more shrimp on the side). One writer mentions ordering refills through the tablet at the table.
- The dining room is six four-person tables and nothing more; several writers counted the same number and call it small. There is a separate room at the back that seats six to eight, and two writers say to phone ahead if you are coming as a group.
- As the meal winds down the owner brings a glass of pumpkin sikhye, free, and nearly everyone describes it the same way: barely sweet. Four writers mention it is also sold by the bottle, but not one of them wrote down the price.
- The pot rice is started only after you order, so there is a ten- to fifteen-minute wait; four writers say so, and one of them notes that warm scorched-rice tea arrives first to drink while you wait.
- People walk from Geumnyeonsan station on line 2. Those who give directions all say the same thing — leave by exit 1 and head down toward the sea — and put it at four or five minutes on foot. One writer says exit 5 instead.
- Traces of visits by the local member of the National Assembly and by a mukbang YouTuber are displayed inside, along with a district plaque naming the shop a "sharing angel." Six writers mention seeing them.

Parking
2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Almost everything we know about parking is the shop's own notice, repeated nearly word for word in fifteen posts: park at the Sanho lot 30m up the street, bring the stamp, and they cover 2,000 won if two or more of you eat. Only two writers describe actually parking there. One calls it a two-minute walk; the rate is given as 3,000 won an hour in one post and 1,500 won per half hour in another. The shop has no lot of its own.

Getting there

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 2 of 27 posts |
|---|
The registered address puts it on the ground floor, and no post mentions stairs or a step. All we have about the level is that one line of the address; nobody wrote about what the doorway itself is like.
Not one of the twenty-seven posts mentions a doorsill, a ramp, a wheelchair or a stroller. We do not know whether you can get in — which is not the same as saying you cannot; it means nobody looked.
Two writers place the toilet inside, on the way to the private room at the back. Two others write "separate men's and women's," but both of those lines are lifted straight from the Naver facility list — they run on into "groups welcome, reservations, waiting area, parking" — so we did not count them. Nobody looked and said so.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Accounts of waiting split. Four writers say they walked in — at opening, or just off the lunch peak — while two say they queued or found the room full every time they passed. Neither side wrote down how long they waited. Several say the tables turn over fast, but nobody timed that either.
- The regular closing day does not agree. Five writers say the fourth Wednesday of the month, four say the fifth — and the dates are interleaved, so it is not a change over time: two posts from the same day in July 2026 say different things. Most months do not have a fifth Wednesday at all. If you are going on a Wednesday, phone first.
- Prices went up once. The three pot-rice dishes read 16,000 won through 10 January 2026 and 17,000 won from 1 February. The abalone porridge stayed at 16,000 throughout. The garlic steamed abalone is written as 37,000 won in November 2025 and 35,000 in April 2026, and we cannot tell which is current.
- Five of the twenty-seven say they were sponsored — all of them with a #sponsored tag, four alongside a campaign tag. One says they paid their own way. The remaining twenty-one say nothing about money, which is not the same as saying they were not paid. One of those ends with a referral code for signing up as a review-campaign blogger, without claiming that post itself was sponsored.
- Three of the thirty posts we were given are not in the count. Two were about other shops — a round-up listing a different Jeongsikdang out in Jeonggwan, and a post about Bareun Jeongsikdang near Suyeong station. The third could not be a record of a visit here: it describes "the main dish, whether meat or fish," while the food menu here is abalone and nothing else, and it names no dish and no price. One further post stays in the count but we ignored what it says about the room — the same piece calls the interior both hanok and marble, where the other twenty-six all describe wood.
