Haerujil
해루질 Haerujil means foraging by hand for shellfish and other sea creatures in shallow water at low tide, often at night; a haenyeo wetsuit and a dip net hang on the wall.

Haerujil (Gwangalli branch) is a seafood bar in the back lane behind Gwangalli Beach, at Namcheonbada-ro 33beon-gil 104. It opens at 5 pm; everyone sits at a counter wrapped around the kitchen, and you order by photographing the handwritten whiteboard menu. The set course is 35,000 won a head (two minimum), assorted sashimi 52,000 won, raw shrimp with fried heads 25,000 won, aged-kimchi kimbap 3,000 won. We read 25 posts from 24 July to 18 October 2026; 19 record an actual meal. Five were about haerujil the activity — foraging for shellfish — and were set aside.

Rows without a count: 13 of 15 posts.
Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- It is counter seating only. All 16 posts that described the room put everyone at a bar ringing the kitchen; none mention a table. One estimated about eighteen seats. One post called it cramped for a group, another said a party of four or more should arrive at opening.
- Nine posts describe watching the chefs slice fish and prep seafood right in front of them. One diner put on sunglasses because a tub of onions being cut in front of her stung her eyes.
- When people are waiting, tables are limited to two hours. Four posts mention the rule. One visitor in September 2026 says nobody told them on the way in — the notice was low on a board behind their backs — and when their fourth dish arrived near the two-hour mark they were told they could have an extra 20 minutes. The pair spent 110,000 won and left annoyed.
- Three posts waited: one Saturday in early September 2026 a CatchTable waitlist took three hours to call back; another was first in line around 6 pm on a weekday; a third queued for the 5 pm opening. One post walked straight in, and another found it nearly full just before 6 pm on a weekday. The waitlist runs on CatchTable, though one solo diner had to register in person at the door. One post booked ahead.
3 more
- Seven posts say a dish of seasoned seaweed stems comes free (one calls it seaweed salad); three asked for refills.
- Raw shrimp comes with the heads fried. Three posts found them crisp; one disagreed, saying they were more butter-roasted than battered. Two more posts called the course's onion rings crisp.
- Writing a Naver receipt review earns a shell-shaped wafer filled with vanilla ice cream; five posts received it or saw the offer.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 4 (of 19 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 19 posts |
No post describes the floor or any stairs; only the address says ground floor. That is not a contradiction — nobody wrote about it.
Nobody mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. All we know is that every seat is at the counter.
There is no restroom inside. Four posts used a shared toilet outside; one found it dirty and walked about three minutes to a public one, and one noted the men's and women's stalls are separate but share a room.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 20 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No one describes arriving by subway or bus; '749 m from Geumnyeonsan Station exit 1, ten minutes on foot' is listing info copied by one post.
- Fifteen posts give hours, all copied from listing info: thirteen say Sunday–Thursday 5 pm–2 am and Friday–Saturday 5 pm–3 am; two say 5 pm–3 am daily. Eight give last orders an hour before closing. No post names a closing day — that means nobody wrote one, not that there isn't one.
- Prices come only from copied menus; nobody gives prices for the oyster-and-sea-squirt set, the shrimp with flying-fish roe or the abalone-gut pasta. The only bill reported is 110,000 won for two. Three posts say the set course is not served on Saturdays; one says weekends. Three found dishes sold out, as the menu changes daily.
- Rock oysters dropped off the menu in October 2026: a late-July post saw others eating them and an October 9 post saw them listed, but by October 17 they were gone. We don't know if they will return.
- Eleven posts list the phone number 0507-1430-6467, but none booked by phone; one booked ahead, and the rest talk about the CatchTable waitlist.
- One post discloses sponsorship, four say they paid their own way, and the rest say nothing. One post received monkfish liver, mackerel sushi and a tofu dessert on the house.
