booksome

북썸 Bukseom Booksome blends 'book' with 썸 (sseom), Korean slang for the flirting stage before dating — one couple's caption reads 'flirting with books.'

Compiled from 20 blog posts read in fullSources →

Booksome is a comic-book cafe on the fifth floor of a building facing Gwangalli Beach (153 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro). You buy a time pass (from ₩7,500 for an hour to ₩25,000 for the day, one americano or peach iced tea included), pick an OTT room, a regular room or a board-game room, and read comics, play board games or stream shows. Snacks such as ramyeon, fried rice, tteokbokki and hot dogs are ordered separately. We read 30 posts dated 1 February to 5 October 2026; 20 describe an actual visit. One was about a different place, and nine were listicles or promotional copy sharing the same wording, so we did not count them.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The view is the point: 19 of the 20 visit posts mention seeing the Gwangan Bridge and the sea through the windows, some at night. Several note the window seats are board-game tables or a specific room type, so you need to choose them when you pay.
  2. Shoes come off at the door: eight posts describe locking shoes in a cubby and changing into slippers, with the locker key handed in at the counter in exchange for a usage card.
  3. There is a small sea-facing terrace: four posts mention it. One counted two two-seat tables and noted the terrace is non-smoking, with no smoking room inside at all; another found it empty on a chilly day.
  4. Food is ordered by QR code in the room or at a kiosk by the counter, four posts say; two found the food came quickly, and two mention a friendly owner.

  1. Weekends can mean a wait: two posts mention queues — one waited 15–20 minutes after Saturday lunch because it was full, the other noted weekend waits. Weekday visitors found it quiet. One post copied a rule that extensions are refused when others are waiting.

Parking

4 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot4 of 20 posts

No parking: four visit posts say there is none or no validation. Four posts instead note it is a 5–7 minute walk from Geumnyeonsan Station exit 1. Nearby paid lots named are the Busanjip Kakao lot and the Gwangalli public lot. One post's info line reads 'paid parking available', which seems to mean those lots; we did not count it.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 11 (of 20 posts read)
Lift to the floor2 of 20 posts
Toilet inside2 of 20 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 20 posts

It is on the fifth floor: eleven posts say they went up, two of them by elevator. Many describe the building as the one with KFC on the ground floor, next to Olive Young.

Nobody says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — unknown, not absent. We only know there is an elevator to the fifth floor, shoes come off at the door, and some rooms are ladder-access lofts.

Two posts say the restroom is inside the cafe, so there is no need to put shoes back on. One visitor confirmed separate men's and women's restrooms and called them small but tidy; several posts mention clean restrooms.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 9 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions split on noise: one post found it quiet, three say families and board games make it less suited to focused reading.
  • One post calls it spacious, another smaller than expected. Rooms fit two people lying down, posts say, though one warns two large adults may find them tight.
  • Thirteen visit posts give the same hours, 11:00–23:00 daily, mostly copied into an info header. One warns of occasional shortened hours (check Instagram or call), another that temporary closures are posted on Naver Map. Six late-April promotional posts say it opens at 10:00; we did not rely on them. No post mentions a regular closing day.
  • Pass prices are consistent from March to September 2026, but meal prices are thin: one post puts snack dishes at ₩5,000–8,000, and one copied the drink menu (americano ₩4,000, smoothies ₩6,500). One post says you pay upfront, another heard it is pay-after. Two posts call the price good value.
  • Several posts give the same phone number, 0507-1307-2920. Some say seats can be reserved in advance, but no visitor actually booked, and one notes same-day booking may not be possible.
  • Six posts from 23–30 April 2026 share identical promotional phrasing and hashtags, so we left them out. Several DatePop posts also share wording; we counted only those that describe what the writers actually did.
