Sirang-ri Haenyeo Halmae-jip

시랑리해녀할매집 Sirang-ri is the seaside village it stands in, haenyeo are Korea's women free-divers, and halmae-jip means 'grandma's house' — posts describe an elderly woman drying a diving suit and trimming conch out front.

A seafood house on the second floor of a house up a seaside lane in Sirang-ri, Gijang, near Ananti Cove in Busan. People come for a platter of live octopus, abalone, sea squirt and sea cucumber (small at 30,000 won), a seafood hot pot topped with pen shell and live octopus (three posts say 45,000 won), abalone porridge cooked with the innards, and a 5,000-won seafood ramyeon. Several posts describe seaweed salads and seaweed or pumpkin pancakes arriving first; three say the porridge takes about 30 minutes. We read 18 posts from April 25 to October 19, 2026; two were about other places and were set aside, and 13 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Three posts describe a lunch queue. One arrived around 12:10, got the last table as another left, and the line started right behind them; another went in after 11 and by the time they left the queue was too long to wait for takeout. A repeat visitor writes that the wait starts at 11:30 every time and that arriving at 11 gets you straight in. A Monday-lunch post found it busy but did not wait.
  2. Six posts went with family — a mother, parents, in-laws, nieces — and three of those brought a baby or children. One post was a group of three couples, six people; one was a couple.
  3. Three posts saw actor Choi Bul-am's autograph on the wall. The claim that the place appeared on KBS's 'Korean Table' in 2018 is relayed from a notice or hearsay, so we treat it as reported, not observed.

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 12 posts

It is unclear whether there is a dedicated lot. Five posts parked at the beach lot, in front of Cafe Osirang or on the roadside and walked up the lane; one found plenty of room by the shore right in front. 'Private parking' appears only in copied info blocks.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Second floor3 of 12 posts
Step at the entrance4 of 12 posts

The dining room is upstairs. Three posts say you climb to the second floor to reach the hall, and four mention climbing stairs. Five posts say the window seats look out on the sea.

Three posts place the dining room on the second floor; none says what is on the ground floor.

No post describes getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. Four mention climbing stairs, none mentions a lift, and one describes an uphill lane to reach the door. That does not mean it is impossible — nobody wrote about it.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender. We simply do not know.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 15 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The hot-pot price differs: three posts from July to September 2026 say 45,000 won, one from late September says 40,000. Six posts found it good value; one said the ramyeon was not. Two people sharing a small platter and ramyeon spend about 35,000 won; adding the hot pot brings it to around 80,000.
  • The hours have changed. An April 2026 post lists Wednesday as the weekly day off; a June post says that from July the place closes Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and posts after July agree. Several posts give 9:30 to 21:00 with a 15:00-17:00 break, but all from copied info blocks. One post arrived during the break, found it shut, and called the number posted at the door.
  • No post arrived by bus or subway. One walked under ten minutes from Ananti, one walked from the luge and Lotte World, and several drove. We do not know how transit works here.
  • No post actually tried to book; 'no reservations' appears only in one copied info block. Five posts give the same phone number, 051-721-3193.
