Jayeonjeong is a charcoal sea-eel house on the eel-grill strip by the water at Woljeon, Gijang, Busan. Parking is on the ground floor and the dining room is upstairs. You order eel by the kilo; it arrives cleaned, with the guts, bones, head and tail, plus two or three free shrimp. You grill it yourself over charcoal, then dip it in a red sauce or brush the sauce on and finish it on foil. Five posts give 50,000 won per kilo, and people finish with spicy fish stew (8,000 won) or eel stew (25,000 won). We read 14 posts from December 2024 to July 2026. Thirteen describe actually eating here; the other was set aside because the writer meant to come here but ate at a stall next door instead.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a family place. Of the 13 visits, 10 were with family and 9 were repeat visits. Writers call it their in-laws' regular, a place they came with their father as children, and in one case the restaurant of the boat captain who used to take the writer's late father fishing. One group of seven adults and three children booked by phone the same day and was split across three tables.
  2. They park your car for you. Seven posts say parking is available, and five of them say staff park it: just drive to the entrance and the attendant takes over. One post mentions both an in-building lot and a lot out front. A post from the May 2025 holidays, though, calls the whole area a parking war.
  3. Nine posts say you top up side dishes and lettuce wraps from a self-service bar. A post from August 2025 found the bar well kept; one from July 2026 saw small flies around it.
  4. Five posts say portions are large. Three people shared 1 kg and were too full for the stew; five people ordered 4.5 kg and left some. Two posts say one eel stew is enough for four or five.

Getting inside

Second floor5 of 13 posts
Lift to the floor2 of 13 posts

The restaurant is upstairs. Five posts say parking is on the ground floor and the dining room is on the second. Two mention a lift, and one says elderly relatives with limited mobility got in without trouble.

Nobody says whether there is a step at the door or whether they came in with a wheelchair or pushchair. That means we don't know, not that it can't be done. Two posts mention a lift, and that is all.

No one describes where the toilets are; the only mention is a copied listing line saying they are separate for men and women.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opinions differ on richness: two posts say it was not greasy, and one found it quite rich without a drink to cut it.
  • Five posts agree on 50,000 won per kilo of eel, but one February 2025 post says 2 kg cost 110,000 won, which works out to 55,000 a kilo. We could not tell which is right. Two posts call the price reasonable, and one remembers it at around 15,000 won in childhood. No post gives a per-person total for a meal.
  • Seven posts list opening hours of 10:00 to 21:00 daily, but every one of them copied the line from Naver or a similar listing. One February 2025 post says 11:00 to 21:00. No post mentions a closing day or a break. A writer who arrived just after noon in November 2025 felt the place had only just opened.
  • Four posts copy the phone number 051-721-4081. Only one post booked by phone, so we can't say whether bookings are always taken.
  • Few posts talk about waiting. One arrived around 5 pm to find almost no free tables, with a queue forming by 6. During the May 2025 holidays the place was already full and one party had to sit apart. At lunch, another post waited a long time for the hoedeopbap. Nobody gives a wait in minutes.
  • Two posts say the place is hard to reach by public transport and better by car. No one describes taking a bus or train; three say they drove.
