Gungmi Daege
국미대게 Daege is the Korean word for snow crab; the posts never explain what 'Gungmi' means.

A snow-crab house inside Gijang Market in Busan. You pick crab or king crab from the tanks out front, it is weighed, steamed and cut up for you, and a 4,000-won per-person table charge brings a spread of sample raw fish, abalone and side dishes while you wait. Meals end with rice fried in the crab shell (3,000 won) and crab ramen (6,000 won). Crab is sold at market price; posts recorded 80,000 to 100,000 won per kg. We read 16 posts from January 2025 to August 2026, 15 of them from people who actually ate here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Haggling comes up again and again. Four posts call the owner kind. One says the scale read nearly 160,000 won but he honoured his opening quote of 130,000; another that 280,000 became 250,000 with the basket weight left out; a third that 90,000 won per kg came down to 85,000. Three posts chose this shop because it did not hustle passers-by the way neighbours in the market did.
- Five posts describe the room as spacious; one called it neither big nor small. A December 2025 post put it at about 30 pyeong (roughly 100 square metres). One post mentions a separate upstairs area for groups, and says you keep your shoes on. Family meals are the most common occasion, in seven posts.

Parking

There is no lot of the restaurant's own; you park in the Gijang Market public car park. Seven posts parked there, and several say the fee was knocked off the bill — one receipt shows 2,000 won off, another 4,000 won. One January 2025 post, however, says there was no parking support. One writer notes the car park's back gate is the short way to the shop.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

The only post that described floors mentions an upstairs group area. That the entrance is on the ground floor appears only in the address, not in anyone's account.
No one mentioned a step at the door, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift to the upstairs room. That means we do not know, not that there is none.
One post says the toilets are separate for men and women and tidy; whether they are inside the shop or shared with the market, nobody said.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 16 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Steaming takes time. One post advises calling ahead because it took over 30 minutes; another was told 15 to 20 minutes but the crab sat cooling so long it arrived fairly cold.
- Prices move with the season and with haggling. Snow crab ran 100,000 won per kg in December 2025 (the owner said it was peak price season) and 80,000 or 90,000 in February 2026. Recorded bills: 149,000 won for two, 282,000 for four, and 'forty-something' thousand-won tens for four. One post suggests phoning ahead to ask the day's price.
- Eleven posts list the hours as 9 am to 10 pm daily, but every one copied the shop's listing. No post mentions a break or last order. The phone number is 051-721-7777, and two posts say a table was booked by phone.
- No one wrote about waiting. A December 2025 visit around 5 pm found the room empty, and a Chuseok 2025 evening visit was glad to find a table. Whether queues form at busy weekend meals, nobody said.
- Two posts give transit directions — about 438 m from exit 1 of Gijang Station on the Donghae line — but none of the writers actually arrived by train or bus.
- Only two posts describe a meal for two (one couple, one pair of friends), and none went alone, so how it works for a solo diner choosing crab by the kilo is unknown.
