Korean

Daege Hauseu

대게하우스 Daege is the Korean snow crab, and 'hauseu' is simply the English word house — a snow crab house.

Compiled from 9 blog posts read in fullSources →

A snow crab house inside Gijang Market in Busan. You pick snow crab, king crab or lobster from the tanks out front, pay by weight, and it comes back steamed and cut; after the side spread you finish with fried rice in the shell and a crab soybean stew. Two posts give prices: 60,000–90,000 won per kg depending on size, and 100,000 won per kg for a premium crab. Two posts say the table charge is 5,000 won a head. We read 29 posts from March to October 2026 and counted 9 as actual visits; 23 of the 29 went up between 5 and 28 September 2026 telling the same story.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Five visit posts say the room is large. Two describe standing-height tables for four and eight and mention a separate private room. One says the place uses both the first and second floors — the only post to mention a second floor. Figures like a 50-seat room and 80-seat hall were copied from the listing, so we did not count them.
  2. Two posts say the crab goes into the steamers out front the moment you order; one ordered two snow crabs and a lobster and watched them steamed on the spot. Another says you can watch the crab being cut before it reaches the table.

Parking

2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park2 of 9 posts

Parking means the Gijang Market public lots, not a lot of its own. One post got a free parking ticket and says the shop is right outside the lot's ground-floor back exit. Another found the lot full with a long line, used the street-side public parking instead, and got two hours free. Those are the only two that parked themselves; the rest copy the two-hour note.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Second floor1 of 9 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 9 posts read)

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is a problem.

No post mentions where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender. We do not know.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 20 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One post waited about 20 minutes after finishing the starters because a large group was being served; it is the only one to report slow food.
  • 'The owner is friendly' appears in nearly every one of the September template posts. Five visit posts say it from their own visit; one of them also found the crab cutting sloppy.
  • 23 posts from 5–28 September 2026 repeat the same script — families and groups, a locals' gathering spot, a friendly owner, free lobster with a Naver booking, free ramyeon for a receipt review. None discloses sponsorship, but most give no order or price, so we did not count them as visits. One is a secondhand account of a friend's visit.
  • Only one post gives what a meal cost: 200,000 won for a single 2 kg crab plus the table charge. With 5,000 won a head on top of crab by weight, the bill depends heavily on party size and what you pick. 'Wholesale prices' is the shop's own claim and we did not rely on it.
  • Eight visit posts list the same hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, and four give last orders at 8 p.m.; only one wrote this in its own words, the rest copied an info block. No post mentions a closing day.
  • More than twenty posts give the same phone number, 051-721-1001. The free lobster is said to require a Naver booking; two visit posts booked ahead, one of them on the same day.
  • Directions like '500 m from Gijang Station exit 1' or 'three minutes from the Gijang Middle School bus stop' appear only in copied posts; no visit post says it arrived by train or bus.
  • No post reports waiting for a table. One says the place was packed but not that there was a line. The 'waiting area' line is copied from the listing.
  • The template posts keep calling it good for family and friends, but among visit posts two went with family and one as a couple. None went with friends or as a group.
  • One post saw celebrity autographs on the wall. The TV appearances on 'VJ Special Forces' and 'Star King' are the shop's own publicity, repeated by others.
