Chinese

Sinbarwon Oejeon

신발원 외전 Sinbalwon (新發園, read by one blogger as 'a newly blooming garden') is the 1951 Chinese dumpling house next door; oejeon means a 'side story' or spin-off, and this is its takeout-only annex.

Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →

A takeout-only annex right next to the Sinbalwon dining room in Choryang's Chinatown, across from Busan Station. You order at a kiosk or through Naver, the dumplings are steamed or fried to order, and a plate of four runs 4,800 won (pork), 5,500 won (fried or sogun) or 6,500 won (whole shrimp). There is nowhere to sit, so most people ate on the street, on the train or at their hotel. The shop also sells frozen and chilled dumplings, mooncakes, puff bread and milk tea. We read 30 posts dated 17 May to 23 October 2026; 21 of them describe going to this shop. Posts about eating at the main dining room, delivery orders and bare links were set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There is rarely a line to get in, but there is a wait for the food. Times reported: 5, 10, 10–15, 20, 20, 35, 30–40 minutes and 30 minutes to an hour. Five posts called the wait long; one said it came quickly. One writer notes the Naver pickup alert arrives automatically after about 20 minutes whether or not the order is ready, and they stood in the shop another ten-plus minutes. The posted notice reportedly says 12 minutes normally, up to an hour when busy (quoted, not counted).
  2. Eight posts call the fried dumplings crisp; one that tried both found the sogun thinner-skinned and crisper than the regular gun-mandu. Six mention the dumplings being juicy.
  3. Two posts say there is nowhere to eat — it is takeout only, and one couple ate standing outside. Another describes the small shop packed with people waiting for pickup. To sit down you queue at the main dining room next door.
  4. Seven posts describe ordering at the kiosk in the middle of the shop; cash goes to the counter. Several found ordering ahead on Naver Map cut the wait.

Where it is

Map showing where Sinbarwon Oejeon is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

3 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

No post says what floor the shop is on or mentions stairs — not that there are none, just that nobody wrote about it.

Nobody mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; we only know the shop gets crowded.

No one describes using a toilet; separate restrooms appear only in one copied list of amenities.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Five posts agree on the hours: daily 10:00–21:00, dumpling orders until 20:20. Two posts gave 11:00–20:45 with Tuesdays off under this shop's name, but that looks like the main dining room's schedule, so we did not count it.
  • Prices match between the May and October 2026 posts except the minced-shrimp dumplings: 4,000 won in one May post, 5,000 won in two October posts. Delivery-app prices ran 1,000 won higher per item.
  • Six posts list the phone number as 0507-1440-0214. Nobody phoned ahead to reserve or order; every advance order went through Naver.
