Japanese

Giyohang Busanyeok-jeom

기요항 부산역점 Giyo stands for a guyot, a flat-topped undersea volcano, and hang is written with the character for 'half' and read as the Japanese word for rice, so each bowl is built as a volcano rising out of the sea.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

The Busan Station branch of a kaisendon chain, near Exit 6 and across from the Asti Residence. The basic Giyohang bowl of chopped tuna and seafood piled into a volcano costs 16,000 won; adding sea urchin or crab takes it to 22,000–37,000. A rolled-omelette starter and four slices of tuna with doenjang sauce come first, then the bowl. Leave a little rice and staff pour broth over it for ochazuke, and a pudding ends the meal. We read 30 posts from 15 July 2025 to 14 October 2026. One was about a different restaurant and was set aside; 29 describe a visit. Eighteen say they paid their own way, eleven say nothing either way, and none disclose sponsorship.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order on a tablet at your seat. Twelve posts say they ordered and paid on the tablet or kiosk. One August 2026 post says the tablet was broken that day, so they ordered from a staff member.
  2. This is a walk from the train. Ten posts say they walked from Busan Station, with times from two or three minutes up to five to ten. Several stopped in just before or after a KTX train.
  3. It is not counter-only. Ten posts say there are both counter seats and tables. One solo diner sat at the counter, and one group of five found it a little hard going.
  4. There is a waiting area just inside the entrance. Seven posts mention it, and one says it keeps you cool while you wait even in midsummer.
2 more
  1. It is a chain. Six posts note this and mention branches in Hapjeong in Seoul, Guwol in Incheon, and Haeundae.
  2. Five posts mention beer, and every one is Okinawan Orion on draft. One says there was no bottled beer and the draft cost 8,000 won.

Parking

3 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot3 of 28 posts

There is no parking lot. Three posts say so in their own words, and one gives nearby public lots at 1,500 won per 30 minutes. The other no-parking notes are copied listing blocks.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 28 posts

No post describes which floor it is on from experience. The address says ground floor, and nobody mentions stairs or floors.

We do not know about steps at the entrance or wheelchair and stroller access. Two posts came with a baby, and one mentions a high chair, but nobody describes getting in the door. That means no one wrote about it, not that there is a problem.

Only one post says there is a restroom further inside. Separate men's and women's restrooms appear only in one copied listing block, which we do not count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • We cannot say how long the wait is. Three posts had no wait, but they went at 5 pm on a Tuesday, late in the evening, and on a weekday in July 2025. One post warns that you will wait if you come late and says to arrive before noon. Another had no wait this time but remembers one a few months earlier. No post says how long a lunchtime wait was.
  • Posts disagree on portions: five call them generous and three call them small. Several note that extra rice is available.
  • Prices run from 16,000 won for the basic bowl to 37,000 for the Zen Unidon, and one couple paid 49,000 won. Four posts call it expensive, two call it good value, and two do not decide. A few dishes appear at prices 1,000 to 2,000 won apart in different posts, such as the Sake Aburidon at 19,000 and 21,000.
  • Nineteen posts give opening hours of 11:00–21:00, sixteen give a 15:00–17:00 break, and fifteen say it is closed on Sundays. Most of this is copied from listings. Two posts say it opens every day, and one of them also lists Sunday closing on the same line.
  • Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1350-5767. No post made a reservation. One walked in without booking, and another notes that CatchTable and Tabling are not available.
